About this Pet Care Provider
I have been around animals my entire life. My first four included an Akita named Bear and three cats named White Cat, Shasta and Morris. My family has always rescued any animal in need, so I knew from a young age that working with animals would always be a significant part of my life.
Over the years I have had many animals and I am proud to say that all have been rescued, with the exception of my two Rottweilers Coda and Lexus. Some call me the "crazy animal lady" because I will approach, take care of, and help any animal.
I got lucky when I met my husband, Curtis, in 2001. He had to answer three questions correctly before we could have a relationship. 1. Do you like animals? 2. Do you want animals? 3. Are you ready to rescue an animal today? He answered all three with a big YES and our life together began...
Our first pet was a black and white, long-haired cat, named Coors. Then a Weimaraner, we named Palace. A few short months later we added Halie, our American Pit Bull Terrier, to our growing family. I was working for a veterinarian at the time and even though we thought our house was full, someone brought in a sweet, six week old black kitten. The kitty came out of the crate and gave me a head bump (all cat owners know what I'm talking about) and that was all it took - he was added to our family and we named him Chopper. Halie and Coors passed away in 2012 & 2013 due to cancer. Palace is 12 and Chopper is 10. Recently we rescued our American Pit Bull Terrier, Prim she is 4. We also have had many reptiles over the years and currently have 4 fish tanks and a Chameleon, named Bindi but that's a story for another day!
Harmony and Pets has been my "pet" business since 2001. It all began in my hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado. At the time, my days were spent working at a Pet Hospital, but my real delight was watching pets on the side. Then in 2004 Curtis and I moved to Minnesota and had to go through a long process of finding a pet sitter. After many interviews we discovered that it took a long time to find someone we could trust with our pets and home. This personal experience helped motivate me to move forward with my own professional pet sitting company.
After three intense experiences with my own pets' health, which required constant supervision and skilled care, I knew that it was time for Harmony and Pets to become my full-time job.
Thank you for stopping by! I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)!
