About Us

Hi,

*If you are interested in working with me or have any questions, please send me an email (petcarebymaya@gmail.com) or DM me on instagram, so we can set up a virtually meet and greet to ensure I am the best fit for your furry friend. I offer complimentary in-person meet and greets after the initial virtual session.

My name's Maya (they/he pronouns) and I provide pet walking and sitting services primarily in the Chicago, Lincoln Square area.

I am most comfortable providing services to people who are COVID vaccinate or who can provide proof of a negative test about a week before the scheduled stay. If you would like for me to take a COVID test prior to entering your home, please provide the test and I am more than willing to take it and do what I can to ensure you feel comfortable with me entering your space/interacting with your pet.
Due to my schedule, I prefer working with pets who can be left alone for at least 4-6 hours; however, if you require 24/7 care, I can offer those services on a case-by-case basis at a rate that reflects that level of care.
I am comfortable and excel in working with anxious animals. However, I will not accept bookings for animals who's anxiety/fear comes out as aggression. I am not trained to handle aggressive animals.
I am comfortable with oral medicine administration, ear drops, special diets, and basic senior dog care. I have also taken the online American Red Cross pet safety training course and plan to continuing pursuing pet care professional development. I will always be upfront about my experience and will never accept a booking if I feel cannot provide the best possible care.

A little about me:
I am currently a student pursuing a dual-degree masters in Counseling and Performance Psychology. I moved to Chicago from the east coast and have been enjoying my time getting acclimated to the city. I use pet sitting to help me support myself while I am in school and because I have a genuine love for animals. The pictures I have included are of my pets. I was lucky enough to spend over 10 years with Lucky (cat) before he sadly passed away from cancer. Benji (dog) is a family dog, so he is still at home with my family. I look forward to when I can go home and see him :)

Philosophy:
My approach when meeting any pet for the first time is to go slow, stay calm, and be lovingly patient. Having a new human in their life can be stressful, so I want to make sure your little floof is as comfortable as possible.
