Kristen's Vet Tech Pet Sitting
What We Love To DoPet Sitting Dog Walking
Hi, I'm Kristen! I'm a former veterinary technician, an Animal Science graduate from UC Davis, and a lifelong pet owner. Currently, I'm lucky to share my home with my elderly and talkative domestic longhair and my two-speed [either on or off] American pitbull terrier mix. My life has always revolved around animals and providing them the excellent care they need to live happy, healthy lives. I really enjoy being able to give back and help people and their pets out with the skills that I possess.
Working at an animal hospital and at a boarding facility has given me incredible insight into pet care and behavior, what makes our pets tick, and how we can give them the best lives possible. I have experience with a wide variety of dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I'm knowledgeable about the health problems that our pets face and my time as a vet tech made me familiar with administering many medications. I have experience performing veterinary CPR/first aid and have connections with local veterinary hospitals. I'm also privately insured.
Housesitting -- I work full-time during the week (Monday through Friday), which requires me to be away from home for 9 to 10 hours during the day. Unfortunately, I do not have the ability to drop-in during lunch unless you live very close to my office. However, mornings, evenings, and weekends are dedicated to one-on-one time at your home with your pet(s)! Please keep in mind that I am unable to offer constant care due to my job and other clients.
Drop-Ins/Walks -- During the week I'm available 6:00-7:30am and ~5:30-9:00pm. Unless I already have plans, I'm available mornings, afternoons, and evenings on the weekend.
Cat Care -- Rates vary based on the number of cats in your home, the type of care required (specifically overnight vs. visits), and whether there are also dogs in your home at the time of service.
**Keep in mind that last minute requests (within 48 hours of booking) may not be able to be accommodated.**
I have no breed preferences and personally adore bully breeds. Puppies (under 1 year) are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Also, I absolutely LOVE cats and would be more than happy to care for yours while you're away.
Ideally, when I'm with your pets, I like to make sure I'm doing everything I can to keep them happy, healthy, and comfortable by emulating their normal routine to the best of my ability. Depending on my reason for visiting your home, it may be important to know about food (what kind, how much, how often), any medications your pets are taking and when they need to be given, if they need exercise and what kind, and any behavioral habits or issues they may have (aggression, fear, submission, anxiety, etc.
