About Us

Thank you for considering me as your pet sitter! As a full-time, insured professional pet sitter by Pet Sitter Associates and a proud member of Pet Sitters International (PSI), I have a deep passion for animals and have had some type of pet ever since I can remember. I have extensive experience in pet sitting for dogs, cats, fish, birds, and exotics, and have worked with blind and deaf dogs, dogs with severe Separation Anxiety, Epilepsy, and Cushing's Disease, and cats with Diabetes. I am experienced in administering insulin injections in cats who have diabetes. I also have experience in farm sitting for chickens and goats.

I also offer Pet concierge, Wedding Pet Care, Photo Shoot Pet Care, Pet Taxi Services, and can offer pick-up and drop-off services for your pets' appointments and/or pick up your pets' medications for you. Please reach out to me for the prices for each service. I currently have the BWOGUE headrest restraint seatbelt for my dog/cat travelers, and I also carry a 100 piece first aid kit with me at all times.

POLICY & PROCEDURES

Please be aware that my service area is 15 miles or minutes from my home address. If you are outside of my service area, I will consider traveling outside of my service area for an additional fee to be determined once an address is discussed, and I can Google Map the address. Additional fee is approximately $5-$10. I mostly service the Covington, Mandeville, and Madisonville areas, but do have clients in the Bush and Lacombe areas as well. My business hours are 7:00 am to 7 pm every day, and my first available appointment during the weekday is 8 am, and the last available appointment during the weekday is 7 pm.

Please note that all services are per animal, and there are additional animal fees.

HOUSESITTING

While house sitting at your house, I will clean up all messes made by the animals and myself, bring in the mail, take out the trash, water your plants, and any other small things you need help with while you are away. Please just be sure to discuss what all is expected and needed of me at the meet and greet, and leave me a detailed note of instructions.

House Sitting is per night, up to 24 hours. (For example: If you need an 8 am start time on Saturday, then the end time would be at 8 am on Sunday). If more time is needed than that, then an extended fee will occur, and/or we can set up additional drop-in visits and/or walks. Please ensure that all requests have a start/end time.

Please be aware that at this time, I am not able to provide 24/7 around the clock constant care for your pets. I do have regular daily clients that I provide walks/drop-ins for during the day, as well as my family and own pets that I have to attend to during the day. When I am booked for an Overnight/House Sitting, I will spend the entire night with the pets at their home overnight (usually 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. during the week, during the school year) summer months and weekends/Holidays are more flexible time wise, and I will also provide a mid-day drop-in/walk, included in the house sitting fee. If more time than that is needed, we can book additional drop-in(s)/walk(s). Thank you for understanding!

Please note that Holiday Fees can apply to all days/nights/walks/drop-ins on a booking and is applicable on the weekends of the following federal and cultural holidays:

-Martin Luther King Day (1/12- 1/15)
-President's Day (2/16- 2/19)
-Valentine's Day (2/14)
-Week of Mardi Gras (2/11 - 2/17)
-Week of Spring Break & Easter (3/31 - 4/6)
-Memorial Day (5/24 - 5/27)
-4th of July (7/3 - 7/5)
-Labor Day (8/30- 9/2)
-Indigenous Peoples' Day (10/11 - 10/14)
-Halloween (10/31)
-Thanksgiving (11/23- 11/26
-Christmas and New Years' (12/22- 1/1)

If you have any questions, concerns, or special requests, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss. I am always happy to accommodate your needs and preferences as much as possible.

While your pet is in my care, please provide their own personal collar (with tags), leash, food, treats, puppy pads/belly bands (if needed), poop bags, kennel/crate (for crate trained pets), and any medications needed with instructions, etc. This will ensure that your pet is comfortable and has everything they need while in my care.

When providing Care Instructions and Veterinary Information for me on each pet, please be as detailed as possible in the instructions. It is also a good idea to share my information with your veterinarian and let them know that you will be out of town. In case of an emergency, it is important to let your veterinarian know that I would be the one bringing the pet in and seeking treatment. I will always contact the pet owner first to seek permission before getting veterinary treatment. Please also leave a local emergency backup number with me.

I always prefer to have a Meet and Greet first for everyone’s safety, but understand that is not always feasible. I will always try and accommodate if I can. Please ensure that all directions and instructions are explicitly provided. As a former investigator, and I also have a A.A. degree in Criminal Justice and a B.A. Degree in Sociology, the safety of myself and the pets that I care for are my top priority. Please reach out to me with any questions. One complimentary 30 minute Meet and Greet will be provided so that we can all meet and go over everything and make sure we are all comfortable with each other. If more time than that is needed, we can always book additional drop-in visits to get everyone feeling comfortably with each other.

-I love receiving the written instructions for each of my new pet clients, and my absolute favorite is coming into a new client’s home for a house sitting, and receiving a welcome binder full of all kinds of helpful information and instructions!
-I follow all instructions given by clients when it comes to an animals schedule, and especially when it comes to training, whether it be positive reinforcement and/or redirective enforcement using treats, toys, praise, etc. as not to disturb the normal routine.

-I need to know if the pet has shown any form of aggressive behavior/aggression.
-Is the animal allergic to anything or has allergies?
-I would like to know if your pet has any medical concerns? I have given my dogs and cats medication in the past, as well as have administered medications to my clients pets, specifically dogs, cats, and the cavy, and I have no problem with administering any medication your pet needs. I find that the Greenies Pill Pockets work wonders for pets that have trouble with taking pills, but I am more than comfortable with just giving a pet their medication the old fashioned tried and true method, if that is their preferred method. I also have experience in administering injections to cats.
-I would like to know if your pet has had any behavioral problems in the past with regards to other animals, children, and men?
-Are there any triggers your dog(s) has/have while on walks that I need to be aware of?
-I would like to know if your pet has ever bitten someone?
-For Meet & Greets: We will go over all policy and procedures, and will discuss doors/codes/keys and if you have a security system or cameras in your home that I should be aware of and things like if there will be any visitors I should expect like a gardener, house keeper or other people that may appear in/around the home, and where the main water shut off is in case of a leak, etc.
-If we decide to book, I request that every pet parent write out/type out a detailed list for each animal for my files:
(1) Pets feeding schedule and food and treat information
*I do bring and carry with me various small 3 calorie chicken/salmon/beef training treats that I can share with my dog walking clients with your approval. I also carry various cat treats for my feline friends. Please let me know if you would prefer that I strictly use your treats provided.
(2) Veterinarian Information
(3) *Local Emergency Contact Information - This is someone that can be a back-up for you while you are away/out of town that I can call on in case of an emergency. My husband Charles is on my Rover account as well and is my back-up. However, it is always best to have a local back-up here for you as well.*
(4) Anything else you may think I need to know -(Medications and intake, quirks, likes and dislikes, location of items I may need to use like cleaning supplies, allergies, hiding spots, favorite toys, spots, etc.

With my extensive background in pet care and a heartfelt dedication to animal well-being, you can trust that your pet will be in caring and capable hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member and providing them with a companion while you’re away.
