What We Love To Do
Pet Sitting Dog WalkingAbout Us
Laura Abrahamsen — Good Dog Lady Laura is Long Island’s premier independent Live-In Pet Care and House-Sitting service, specializing in low-stress, in-home pet care for busy professionals and vacation travelers away for a week or more. Since 2011, Laura has provided compassionate, dedicated pet care across Nassau County, NY.
Growing up on Long Island in a poodle-loving household, Laura was always surrounded by dogs. As an adult, her love for animals continued, leading her to adopt five shelter cats, two rescue dogs, several parakeets, and one rascally rabbit. Driven by a lifelong passion for animal welfare, Laura proudly transitioned from retail store management to full-time pet care as a career in 2011.
Good Dog Lady Laura provides tailored ongoing support for pets with physical, medical, sensory, or behavioral challenges that go beyond standard pet care routines. Laura is a trusted caregiver, pet protector, and loving companion, while maintaining a reassuring respectful presence in a client's home. From routine wellness updates to playful shenanigans, all clients are kept connected to their pets with daily photos, short videos, and live FaceTime.
Laura doesn't just provide a service; she partners with pet owners to ensure the highest quality of lifelong care for their pets. Over the years, she has built a loyal community of recurring clients who trust her multiple times a year, every single year. From playful puppyhood to the tender final days, Laura becomes an integral, comforting part of a pet’s life journey. Her clients consider her a member of the family to their pets—a bond that is reflected in the glowing recommendations they share across social media and in personal conversations with friends, relatives, and prospective clients.
