About Us

Hi! My name is Jennifer. I’ve lived in Polk County most of my life and have worked in the animal care field for 35 years. My daughter and I share a home and own a variety of pets…a hound/pit mix, a cat, fish, an arachnid, and several reptiles.

I started my career, in my teens, as a working student on horse farms. I transitioned into veterinary medicine, as a veterinary assistant, while studying animal science. A few years later I felt led to accept a job at local humane society due to my desire to help homeless and abandoned animals. I took courses in dog behavior, and training, during my employment there. I eventually started a successful pet sitting service while working as a part time assistant for a pet groomer. I chose to close my business when my daughter was born to focus on being a stay at home mom in her formative years. I then returned to my passion of veterinary medicine and have been in the field, working as a veterinary technician and inventory manager, for the past 16 years. I recently reduced my hours to part time which will provide the time and flexibility to accommodate most pet care schedules.

In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, watching movies, working on puzzles, walking my dog, and spending time with family. I also love nature and recently started raising Luna moths.

I am meticulous, mindful, and take pride in going above and beyond. I serve Polk County and surrounding areas.
